Tony Trueman

Profile

Tony has 20 years’ experience in communications and marketing in the commercial and non-profit sectors, including education, archaeology, housing, law and medical products. He currently runs a communications consultancy in the West Country.
 
He began his career as a news reporter for the Bristol Evening Post and Press Association national news agency in London. He then moved into PR and communications as Communications Manager for St Mungo’s housing association in London, before working in similar positions for Wessex Archaeology in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and as Head of Communications for the University of Bath where he managed publications, web and media relations strategies. He has taught communications at Southampton Solent University, and guest lectured at Bournemouth University. Among his current work is the co-editing of a magazine for the British Sociological Association, and managing its media strategy.
 
He has degrees in history, international relations (Cantab) and science, and qualifications in journalism, public relations (CAM) and marketing (CAM
